3 weeks old

I am so thankful to have such amazing friends.  This past weekend two of my best friends came to meet Hudson and hang out with us for the weekend.  Their husbands and babies also came along which made for a fun full house and lots of entertainment from the babies.  It was a great weekend although it went by way too fast.  It is so fun knowing that our boys will be able to grow up playing together.

Hudson also shared his 3-week birthday with his Grandma on Monday.  He seems to be getting the hang of the eating thing a little better over the last few days.  He weighed in at 7 lbs today!!!

Newborn Pictures!

Hudson is so lucky to have an aunt who is an amazing photographer!  His newborn pictures are even more special knowing that she took them.  We had a great weekend having Katie here.  It just makes me wish that Texas wasn't so far away!  Here is a link to a few of his pictures and I just LOVE them all.   I just can't stop smiling when I look at them.  It is still kind of hard to believe that he is ours.  It was a learning experience for me trying to pose a two week old for pictures knowing that he might wake up and cry at anytime.  I felt like I was holding my breath most of the time hoping that he would stay where we put him. He kept us on our toes.  I am sure I will be posting more pictures later.  :)

If you know of anyone that needs a great photographer in Texas here is a link to her website.  I am sure she is always up for traveling too!

Two weeks old

Hudson is two weeks old today!  A nurse came by to weigh him today and he is back up to his birth weight of 6 lbs 10 oz today so we are all really happy about that.  He spent his two week birthday being a "model" for aunt Katie.   He was so worn out afterwards that he slept through his first snow.   Funny how he didn't want to stay asleep while we were trying to take pictures but then immediately fell asleep as soon as the cameras were gone.  Thanks to her hard work we will have some super cute newborn pictures to share soon.  We are so glad that she got to come visit and wish that Texas wasn't so far away!

Aunt Katie

Second weekend home

It is going to be a big weekend.  Aunt Katie is coming into town from Texas to meet Hudson.  We can't wait!  It seems like Hudson is growing too fast already.  He is starting to look like a little man instead of a squishy newborn.  He is still swallowed whole by all of his newborn clothes.  He will be weighed again on Monday morning so we are hoping to be close to his birth weight by then.  Today is the first day of Zach's paternity leave!  We are so thankful that he has this time to spend with his baby boy.

Notice the mittens in all of his pictures.  I am still a little nervous about cutting his nails.   They are just so tiny!  Poor thing just scratches his face up without the gloves on.  Luckily he doesn't seem to mind them.

I love his awake time when he just looks around :)

Whoa mom...back up

Due Date

Today was the day that we had prepared for Hudson to arrive.  So much for 11 extra days of preparation.   We are so thankful that he arrived healthy on the 27th and that we got to meet him a little bit early.  We have lots to celebrate today on his  "due date".  We are officially done with the bili-blanket and his bilirubin levels appear to be in a safer range.   We are keeping a close eye on his weight because he dropped so quickly after leaving the hospital.   The nurse came by to weigh him today and he is up to  whopping 6lbs 7.5 ounces.  That is up about 5 ounces since his last pediatrician appointment on Tuesday!  I guess all of our marathon feedings and no sleep is paying off for Hudson.  I can tell that his cheeks seem a little chunkier today and I think I see that he might have a dimple like his mom :)

Hudson got his first sponge bath this week.  He did not like the sponge but was a BIG fan of getting his hair washed and getting a little head massage.  The best part is that he slept so well after his bath.

Even though Hudson miss Santa by two days, he still got a Texas stocking from his grandparents in Texas.  I think it is too cute that the stocking is bigger than he is.

We have been way to busy to take down the Christmas tree so we thought Hudson should get a picture in front of it before we took it down.  He really liked the lights.

Thanks for my new Blankie Nana!

Happy One Week Birthday Hudson!

Can't believe that Hudson is one week old today!  This week has flown by and I can't believe we are functioning on so little sleep in one week.  Needless to say this sweet face keeps us going.  Here are a few pictures of Hudson today.

The cute Moose onesie only lasted about 5 minutes before he peed all over it :)  That is pretty much the story with most of his outfits.

We finally got some sunshine today so Hudson got to sunbathe to help with the jaundice.  Angel wanted to lay next to him the entire time.  Pretty cute.

I love the frog pose

Happy New Year!

Can't think of a better way to start off the new year.  We are so blessed and so excited to see what 2011 will bring and to watch our baby boy grow.   My new year's resolution is pretty easy to decide for this year:  To be the best mommy that I can be.

After today's blood work Hudson's bilirubin levels had not dropped but because he is a little older the Pediatrician said that he is at a safer level now and says that we no longer have to use the bili-blanket.  It was nice to be able to just pick him up and walk around the house today.  It is a lot easier when he isn't attached to a machine.  His weight is going up since leaving the hospital (6 lbs and 3oz today) and we will be going into to the Pediatrician on Tuesday morning for another check.  Hopefully Greensboro will  get some sunshine soon so Hudson can get some natural sunlight to help the Jaundice.

Getting some much needed sunshine!

I am so happy someone invented swaddle "cheat" blankets because this boy can wiggle his way out of the best swaddle.
