Little Wedding Guest

Saturday we drove to South Carolina for my cousin's wedding.  It was a beautiful day and the wedding was at a gorgeous old plantation house.  Hudson was good during the ceremony because it was outside (his favorite place to be) and aunt Bec Bec rocked him in a rocking chair.  Hudson also did great on the car ride down but got a little agitated when our 2.5 hour trip turned into a 3.5 hour trip when we missed our exit.  We got to see a lot of small small towns in NC and SC along the way.  For awhile there weren't even lines on the roads that we were driving on.  I think we need a new GPS. :)  Zach's i Phone could have been helpful if AT&T's service wasn't so horrible.  He had no service the entire time that our GPS was telling us to turn into graveyards and down dirt roads etc.!  Here are some pics from the day.

Would have been a cute picture if I could ever keep my eyes open!! grr

First Father's Day

We had a mini Father's day celebration last year because we knew that our baby was growing and that Zach was going to be a daddy but this was Zach's first official Father's day with his son.  We didn't do anything too exciting.  Zach did some early morning fishing of course.  Hudson had his first trip to church and sat through the service and sermon like an angel!  The rest of the day we hung out, went to the farmer's market and just spent the day together.  Hudson was really happy all day.  I think he really likes spending his weekends with his daddy.  Happy first Father's Day Zach!  Love you more everyday!

Hudson's message to his dad on his Father's day card

I just love these next few pictures of Zach and Hudson playing together.

It is funny because I see so much of Zach in Hudson sometimes but as I look at these pictures they look like complete opposites.  Zach with his dark curly fro and brown eyes and Hudson with his fine light hair and blue eyes. :)

 Love that smile

Hudson doesn't like to nap but he has fallen asleep two days in a row like this in Zach's arms without a fight.

Up and ready to go again!  He was having a blast jumping today.

How he ended the day.  Falling asleep sitting on the front porch with aunt Bec Bec.  He LOVES being outside.

Hudson-AKA: Chuck-a-monk

23 weeks!

Hudson's memory for this week will be that he was home with Daddy when lightning struck the house! I had a funeral and a wedding to go to on Saturday so Zach was at home watching Hudson alone when the storm rolled in.   He said that he heard the thunder then heard what he said sounded like sheet metal banging together as the house was shaking.  Of course the dogs started going crazy and Hudson was screaming because he was scared.  Luckily it did not start a fire.  A lot of appliances stopped working, including the air conditioning which is not fun in this miserable weather we are having.  As of today, pretty much everything but the kitchen stove has been repaired and is back up and running.  I am just thankful everyone was safe.
This event was just another reminder in the week that health and life are not promised to us each day and that we should all remember to be thankful for each day that we have with those that we love.  Earlier in the week I learned that a friend's mother passed away after battling cancer for over 3 years.  The next day I found out that a dear friend from high school passed away unexpectedly just 2 days before her 31st birthday.  Both of these were amazing women that were taken away from their loved ones too soon.  I guess God had other plans for them.  Each day we have with our loved ones is a gift.  Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers.

On a happier note here is my crazy 23 week old who I have seen roll over at least a handful of times so I know that he can do it.  The problem is that he still hates being on his tummy so now he is just content with rolling to his side and stopping there.  It is like he knows what will happen if he keeps going so he either stops really fast with his legs or he flops back over on his back. We have some work to do Hudson...

The forgotten baby..she just follows us around all day and hopes we will let her take a nap with us.
