Last Days

I decided that I wanted to try to spend a little time with Hudson before his little brother gets here so Friday was my last day of work before starting maternity leave and Hudson's last day in his daycare classroom.  We were really sad to say goodbye to his teacher's and friends but I am excited about getting to see him more.  Who knows how this will go when there are two boys under two to take care of.  I warned them that I might be calling to drop him off there again! :)  Hudson loves his friends and teachers at daycare and it is amazing how much he has learned there.  He can count to 10 in English and Spanish, knows all of his colors, knows his ABCs and even tries to do some of the letters in sign language, He eats like a big boy at a table, takes a nap on a mat, washes his hands, knows lots of fun songs, talks constantly, and my favorite:  loves to clean up "meen up" and wipe tables thanks to Ms. Latoya.  Here are a few pictures of Hudson in his one year-old classroom.

 Hudson's favorite: Breakfast

 Circle time

Looks like the boys are making a mess.

His "Ria".  She has been one of his teachers since his first week at school when he was 7 months old.  He loves her so much!

Sweet!  They said that she gave him a big kiss on the lips when she left. ;)

 He loves the ladies. :)

 Lunch time

 Nap time!
His special cupcake snack.  They said he devoured it.  I am not surprised.

It looks like he may have also eaten some of the paper towel :)

 Loving on his Ms. Latoya.
Reading the big book with Ms. Toya

All of his friends made a card for him with their handprints.

Ms. Maria took a nap with him on his last day. :)

Can't believe he was this little when he started there!  Time flies.  Excited to be home for a while and spend a little more time with my boys.  They grow up too fast!

Who Needs Sleep?

It has been a long week!  Last Monday we got a call from daycare saying that a little boy bit Hudson on the arm and drew blood.  So we had to take him to the Dr. to see if he needed antibiotics.  Apparently, human bites are more likely to get infected than dog bites.  Hudson has randomly been talking about biting and the little boy who bit him all week.  It was sad when I walked in to pick him up from daycare because he held up his arm and said "Bite!"  "I broken!"  Poor guy.  So far it seems to be healing fine without antibiotics.  He also decided that he did not want to take a nap for me this weekend and fighting with him to take a nap made me exhausted.  He must have not been feeling well because he woke up with a runny nose and cough.  He has had a pretty good run of being healthy this summer but I guess this is a sign that winter is around the corner.  Of course he gets sick just in time for the baby to get here.   3 more weeks (or sooner)!

He will smile on command on occasion.

Daddy treated him to a ride in the front seat over the weekend.  He loved it!

Angel and Hudson watching out the window for animals in the back yard.

 Almost the same size. :)

I can give him a paper towel and he will "clean" for at least 15 minutes inside the house.  On this day it was wet on aunt Becca's deck after the rain and he stayed out there for about 30 minutes.

Hudson In Action

Here are a few recent videos of Hudson doing some of his favorite things:

He loves playing with daddy because he does the fun stuff mom can't do right now.  In this video he loved it when Zach threw the ball really hard against the wall.  When it sounds like he is saying "ma ma please" this is actually him saying "more more please"  This is one of his favorite phrases.

I was trying to catch him on camera "reading" out loud but he always stops when I turn the camera on.
He really likes to read books and it amazes me how he remembers things about books even if we have only read it once or haven't read it in awhile.

I think I have mentioned before that Hudson loves to listen to Parmalee and one of his favorite songs is "Must of Had a Good Time".  He likes to pretend that he is drumming to it or playing the guitar with it. Although the Mickey Mouse guitar does not play this song he liked imagining that he was jamming to "Good Time" :)

Rainy Thursday

I have so much to get done before this baby comes!  I feel as big as a house right now and running errands with Hudson is not easy.  Mostly because he is so heavy and it is so hot getting him in and out of the car and the car seat.  I always have good intentions of getting things done on my "day off" but I am starting to realize that these are going to be the last few weeks that I have just spending time with Hudson.  I am trying to soak it all in.  I was a little relieved to have a rainy afternoon today.  It didn't make me feel as guilty for not running errands and for actually putting my feet up and taking a little cat nap when Hudson napped today.  We spent the afternoon playing around the house, dancing to music, drawing, and painting with water colors.

 Nice belly shot

He really enjoyed just mixing all of the colors together. Unlike his mother, he does not seem to mind all of the colors looking like brown!  I remember always hating it when the black paint got into any of the other paints.

As you can see, Angel was close by due to the thunder that was going on during the painting.

He likes to pretend that he is going to sleep on anything that looks like a mat.

20 Months

Hudson turned 20 months old on August 27th.  Can't believe we are getting so close to 2!   Hudson continues to make us laugh everyday with his funny personality.  We are having to be more careful because he is repeating everything  we say.  He is much more opinionated about what he wants and is using his new found words to tell us.  He likes to request what he wants to eat for meals and snacks and has also decided that he needs to pick what color cup he drinks from.  He prefers to drink out of cups without tops or with a straw and this has resulted in a lot more messes to clean up.  Luckily, Hudson also enjoys cleaning up "messes".  He is what we have been up to this week:

We made a few trips to Lowes and Hudson enjoyed the "blue car" cart.   He liked going fast down the aisles and yelling "beep beep"

One of Hudson's favorite toys is a broom handle.  We have to take it outside every time we go out. Sometimes he likes the broom attached but really enjoys pretending that the stick is a vacuum, guitar, or walking stick.  He also enjoys chasing Angel and Wyatt around with his stick.

He also likes to wear his new craft when he goes outside.  They are learning about butterflies at school this month and they made a little butterfly necklace.  He was pretty proud of it.

Those curls are out of control again.

We tried to get out on the playground early on my day off this Thursday.  It was still way too hot to stay out long.

Wonder what he was thinking when he gave me this look?

 Pouring dirt on his head.

He is eating much better with his spoon and fork and seems to use his right hand as much as his left.

He looks like such a big boy when he lays down like this to draw or color.

I was brave and took Hudson to the kids museum on Sunday by myself.  We had fun and both needed a nap when we got home.

He loves dinosaurs these days.  One of his favorite books that we read at night is about dinosaurs go to bed.

 Driving the ambulance

He has a love/hate relationship with the sirens.

Playing in the vet area and loving on the injured dogs.  Taking after his mommy.

When we got into the kitchen area he announced that he wanted to cook eggs.  He was a little confused   that he could touch the stove and kept asking me if it was hot.  Guess I have drilled it in pretty good that  he can't be near the stove when I am cooking.

 Carrying all of his eggs

Making his audiology mommy proud.  He loved the toy otoscope but not sure I would recommend putting it in water. :)

This video is a few weeks old.  We have seen a rabbit on the little walking trail a few times and now whenever we are walking he says "shhhh" because we told him that you have to be quiet to see the animals.  He does pretty well with the "shhh" part but then says "Hop, Hop!" really loud when we are looking for the rabbit.  Not a skilled hunter yet.

Just Hudson being silly before bed listening to one of his favorite Parmalee songs.  I fear that we might have a head banger on our hands.

Update on baby brother:  I am 35 weeks and at my last check-up the midwife said that she thought he had turned and is head down now.  I have already gained as much weight as I did when I had Hudson so I have a feeling this baby might be a little bigger than Hudson was.  Continuing to say my prayers for a easy delivery and a healthy baby in about a month!
