Second Mother's Day

Spending my mother's day weekend with my entire family made for a perfect second mother's day.  We went to Greensboro to stay with my mom and my brother and sister also both stayed for the weekend.  Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market then out to dinner where they were playing live music.  Sunday, Rebecca made sausage and gravy biscuits for us for breakfast (yum!) and since it was rainy we just hung around the house.  I even got to snuggle and take a nap with Hudson.  Then we went to the park and let Hudson run off some energy.  It was a great weekend.  We did lots of laughing at Hudson because he is such a little Ham lately.  He loves to dance and try funny things to get the attention in the room. He is also showing off his sweet side lately.  He will usually freely give hugs and snuggles unless he is more interested in playing with one of his favorite toys (the broom, mop, swiffer, vacuum, or guitar)at the moment.  He is saying lots of new words every week and it is amazing to see the things that he is understanding.  Although he still loves his Paci "Papis", he totally understands when I tell him that he has to take it out and give it to mommy if he wants something else.  If it is something really enticing he will yank that paci out and throw it across the room.  When it is not, I now know that he is ignoring me and he is really good at that.   

I love my weekends with my baby boy and this weekend was just extra special because I thank the lord everyday that he blessed me with such a gift.  Being a Mom is truly amazing and exhausting at the same time.  Prayers go up daily for the next little baby that will be here by mother's day next year!  I am one lucky momma.

 First time on a tire swing.  It is usually full but the rainy day scared some people away from the playground.  He loved it.

 As you can tell, his 18-24 month clothes are already getting pretty snug.  The belly looks very prominent in this outfit.  On to size 2T I guess!

Climbing up the slide is pretty hard. Sometimes you just need to rest in between.

Daddy taught Hudson a new trick while we were out for our mother's day dinner.  :)  There was a little band playing outside where we were eating and Hudson was dancing in his high chair so I will have some more dancing videos to share soon.  Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day!

"Monday Funday"

Yesterday Zach and I both met at Hudson's daycare to pick him up.  It was so cute because he was so happy and surprised to see us both there.  He ran up and gave me a hug then gave Zach a big hug and immediately ran to the door and started trying to get out.  He was ready to go!  We drove to Cary to have dinner with friends to celebrate Quincy's birthday.  Even though it was Quincy's birthday, Essie also wanted it to be her birthday again.  Quincy said that she insisted on wearing her outfit from her 2nd birthday party and getting "candy cakes"(cupcakes) at the store to bring to dinner.  She is so funny.  Hudson and Essie had a good time running around.  I am sure they were both exhausted.  It was nice to have a fun Monday for once!

 Can you tell that Hudson is pretty much the same size as Essie and she is 27 months!  

 Essie shared her candy cakes with Hudson.  He ate his in two bites while lady-like Essie took little bites from hers until she finished it.  :)

Summertime And The Living Is Easy

It was so hot this week and although I don't think it is officially summer yet, it certainly felt like it.  I took Hudson to the pool for the first time this year on Thursday.  The water was still a little cold so he just wanted to hang out on the lounge chair and watch the big kids while eating goldfish crackers.

Saturday morning was a little overcast so we took advantage of the cooler morning and went to pick strawberries at an organic farm in Hillsborough.  This was really exciting for Hudson because he LOVES any kind of berries right now.  When we first got there he was excited to see all the the strawberries but it took him a few minutes to realize that these really were the same thing that I place on his highchair everyday to eat.  After he realized he could eat them the "picking berries and putting it in the basket was over".  We had to round up when we paid for our strawberries because he had eaten so many in the field.  It was a fun morning.  Hudson and daddy both took naps when we got home.
